📢 Extra Property Tax Savings Available for Seniors! 🏡💰
The Lucas County Auditor’s Office is encouraging eligible homeowners to apply for the Homestead Exemption Program before October 30, 2026.
Thanks to Ohio House Bill 479, qualifying Homestead recipients approved in 2026 may receive an additional discount on their January 2027 property tax bill, estimated at approximately $450!
You may qualify if you are: ✅ Age 65 or older
✅ Totally and permanently disabled
✅ A qualifying surviving spouse
✅ Meet the income requirements (or qualify under certain exemptions)
If you are already receiving the Homestead Exemption, no action is needed. The additional discount will be applied automatically.
📅 Need help applying or have questions? The Lucas County Auditor’s Office will be attending several senior expos and community events throughout September and October to assist residents with Homestead applications and answer questions.
⏰ Apply by October 30, 2026 to receive the additional savings on your January 2027 tax bill.
